Should The President Be Replaced?

President Donald Trump is continuing his battle against public servants who reveal federal government wrongdoing.

“President Trump moved on Friday night to replace a top official at the Department of Health and Human Services who angered him with a report last month highlighting supply shortages and testing delays at hospitals during the coronavirus pandemic,” The New York Times reported Friday evening.

“The White House waited until after business hours to announce the nomination of a new inspector general for the department who, if confirmed, would take over for Christi A. Grimm, the principal deputy inspector general who was publicly assailed by the president at a news briefing three weeks ago,” the newspaper reported.

“The nomination was the latest effort by Mr. Trump against watchdog offices around his administration that have defied him. In recent weeks, he fired an inspector general involved in the inquiry that led to the president’s impeachment, nominated a White House aide to another key inspector general post overseeing virus relief spending and moved to block still another inspector general from taking over as chairman of a pandemic spending oversight panel,” The Times reported.

Is this the way that a President of the United States should react to career public servants just doing their jobs?  I believe that most Americans will agree that people who are just doing their jobs should not have their careers upended just because the President doesn’t like what they are reporting about him.  That is what their job is – to provide a report, good or bad, on something that the President is involved in.  Does he believe that doing this after hours, will keep the public from learning that he is replacing these people?

Mr. Impeached President – what are you attempting to hide – your complete incompetence in handling the CoronaVirus Pandemic?

That your security officials warned you of the approaching pandemic in December and you did not listen to them?

The fact that you abolished the Pandemic Response team, the very office that’s sole job was to stop pandemics from happening?

That you cut the budget for the Department that kept employees in China to first see when situations like this occur and before it reaches the United States?

That for the entire month of February you continued to call this pandemic a hoax and did nothing to stop it?

When you put into place your blockage of any people from China entering the United States, you then made 400 exceptions?

It is all quite simple, this is an election year and you don’t want too many voters realizing that you totally screwed up the management of this crisis and we may be living with this mess for up to 2 years before vaccinations are developed and provided to the voters of this nation!  You are taking a crisis involving the death of thousands of Americans and making decisions as if it were a political issue showing the type of human being you are – one who lacks compassion and empathy which are two traits any good chief executive needs to have to do their job.

So, if you are not doing your job – shouldn’t we the voters remove you from your position as a government servant whose main job is to protect the citizens of this country?  This protection did not stop over 60,000 of our fellow American’s from dying of a virus that quicker actions might have prevented.  Perhaps it is time that we replaced you with a more competent leader!
