Know What Trump Is Doing

President Trump is not happy with just exiling Lt. Col. Vindman out of the White House, sending him back to the Pentagon.  Now the President and commander in chief believed the Defense Department needs to act against the Colonel, also.  Trump told reporters who asked if Vindman should face disciplinary actions, and Trump maintain if you look at the situation, further action is needed.

This is certainly an unsettling time in Washington DC.  Since Trump’s acquittal in the Senate Removal trial, a very angry and liberated president has tried to even the scales of Justice as he sees it.    This what he has done:

  • Colonel Vindman and his brother were marched out of the White House by security;
  • An ambassador who testified in the House hearings was dismissed;
  • JD officials intervened on behalf of Trump’s convicted friend Roger Stone causing 4 career prosecutors to resign from the case.

Not to mention the name calling and viciousness on Twitter to Sen Mitt Romney and others.

A senior official in the Pentagon appears to be in danger of losing her nomination to a top Defense Department position after questioning the president’s suspension of aid to Ukraine.  Also, a prosecutor involved in the Stone case has lost a nomination to a senior Treasury Department position.  A key National Security Council official is believed by colleague to be facing dismissal.  And the list of dozens of career officials being removed out of the White House could be gone by this week’s end.

The president’s participation in the Stone case has produced strong protest and calls for an investigation into whether he improperly sought to bias the prosecution in favor of a longtime associate and adviser.  Hours after Trump’s tweets that criticized the Justice Dept for seeking up to 9 years in prison for Stone, the department change and said it would ask for a lesser sentence.  The resignation of 4 career prosecutors working this case left the impression that they thought something improper had occurred.

Trump has complained repeatedly against law enforcement agencies for aiming at his associates.  Among those who have been convicted are:

  • Paul Manafort – former campaign chairman;
  • Michael Flynn – former national security adviser;
  • Michael Cohen – his personal attorney.

Trump wrote on Twitter

This is a horrible and very unfair situation. The real crimes were on the other side, as nothing happens to them. Cannot allow this miscarriage of justice!”

He demanded to know why the Democratic power broker Tony Podesta has not been prosecuted and Trump then expanded his attacks to Judge Amy Berman Jackson who is presiding over Stone’s case.

 “Is this the Judge that put Paul Manafort in SOLITARY CONFINEMENT, something that not even mobster Al Capone had to endure?” he wrote on Twitter, providing a false version of her role as well as his treatment. “How did she treat Crooked Hillary Clinton?”

President Trump has suspected that many around him – government officials as well his own political appointees – have secretly been working against his interests – the Deep State.

His impeachment for withholding $391 million in security aid from Ukraine in exchange of dirt on the president’s political opponent, only reinforced that opinion as he watched many officials testify before the House.  Witnesses such as Colonel Vindman testified under subpoena, but Trump blamed them for his entire impeachment problem.  Tuesday Trump complained at length about Vindman, accusing him of misleading Congress about the president’s July 25 phone call with the president of Ukraine.  But the fact is, Vindman’s version of the call closely follows the written record that was released by the White house.  Vindman testified that he thought it was not appropriate to ask a foreign country to tarnish the president’s domestic political opponents.

 And the beat goes on!
