Hillary Clinton is jumping back into politics-but not as a candidate. According to a new report out from Axios, Hillary Clinton is planning to launch a PAC to support organizations as well as candidates that will shape the future of the Democratic Party.
CLINTON PAC
Clinton apparently hopes the PAC will “[act] as a quiet catalyst” for change, especially given the upswing in activism and engagement since the 2016 election. “[I]t’s something she’s become increasingly passionate about with each meeting,” Axios writes. Clinton plans to ramp up her efforts in time to back candidates in the 2018 mid-terms when Democrats will need to defend key seats in the House and Senate and hope to pick up, potentially, dozens more.
RETURN TO SPEAKER’S CIRCUIT
And, no, Clinton, who will also return to the speakers’ circuit, isn’t planning to use it to announce some ultimate political reincarnation: She has, writes Axios, “no intention of making it a vehicle to run for anything herself.”
ACTIVIST CITIZEN
“So you know,” she said in an appearance at the Women for Women International Luncheon on Tuesday, “I’m now back to being an activist citizen and part of the resistance.”
