President-elect Trump’s list of preferred White House staff and cabinet appointments; a list that has dredged up names associated with extreme anti-Semitism, racism, and homophobia.
Gov. Nikki Haley – for ambassador to the UN – she has zero foreign policy experience which is OK because Trump doesn’t think much of the United Nations anyway. Rumors follow her around about an alleged 2007 affair between herself and Will Folks, a political blogger and former campaign staffer.
She also opposed the Iran nuclear deal (which would block Iran’s path to a bomb).
Activist Betsy DeVos – for education secretary – She is an advocate for school choice and charter schools and has drawn criticism in conservative circles for being associated with groups that support the Common Core. Common Core is one of the things that Trump campaigned on changing. She also has links to the Clinton Foundation
She is also a billionaire as her husband is heir to the AmWay fortune. Her brother Eric Prince is also the founder of BlackWater security group that have no-bet contacts with the government.
Rep. Tom Price (R-GA) to lead the Department of Health and Human Services, a vocal critic of the Affordable Care Act, would likely be central to Trump’s plan to repeal or change the health-care reform law. A former orthopedic surgeon, Price has recently criticized the ACA for its rising premiums and cuts to health-care options. He has suggested alternative bills while in Congress, although it is still unclear how Trump plans to act on the Affordable Care Act. “Either Obamacare will be amended, or repealed and replaced. He also wants to privatize Medicare making it into a voucher program and also has been against the CHIPS program.
Kansas Rep. Mike Pompeo for CIA director – Pompeo has heavily criticized the landmark Iran nuclear deal, blasted Hillary Clinton over the attack on a U.S. diplomatic outpost in Libya and her use of a private email server, and believes Edward Snowden is a traitor who deserves a death sentence. He also supports restoring the National Security Agency’s bulk collection of telephone metadata, a contentious terror-fighting tool Congress eliminated after Snowden’s revelations.
Trump has nominated Steven Mnuchin to be his Treasury secretary, per a recommendation from his own transition team. Mnuchin worked at Goldman Sachs for 17 years and OneWest Bank, which got into hot water for a series of attempted home foreclosures after the 2008 housing bubble burst. OneWest Bank also disproportionately foreclosed on senior citizens.
Trump is going with hedge fund titan Wilbur Ross for Commerce Secretary,
DRAINING THE SWAMP
Donald Trump has no intention of draining the swamp and every intention of running Washington to benefit himself and his rich buddies.”
