Justice for Michael Jackson demonstration in 2010

Associated Press in Los Angeles reports that the closing arguments in the involuntary manslaughter case against Michael Jackson’s personal physician are set to begin today – Thursday Nov. 3rd.

Prosecutors and attorneys for the defense will summarize their cases for the jury of 7 men and 5 women.  Testimony has been heard in this trial for 22 days.

The prosecution will attempt to show that Dr. Conrad Murray gave the singer the sedative as a sleep aid without  the correct medical equipment to closely monitorJackson.  Prosecutors will try to make the case thatMurraywas criminally negligent.  They will contend thatMurrayadministrated the fatal dose with testimony thatMurraywas distracted and leftJackson’s bedside the morning the singer died.

The attorneys for the defense will try to convince the jury thatMurraydid not administer the dose that was fatal and thatJacksonis actually to blame for his own death.

Dr. Conrad Murray has pleaded not guilty.
