For today’s Odd but True news, out of Portland Organ, police officers stated that a domestic disturbance suspect fell into their hands – thru the ceiling.

Police were called Monday to a residence to handle an intoxicated man who was reported to be threatening relatives.  The suspect barricaded himself in the attic and officers decided he wasn’t a threat so they started to leave.  This is when they heard a loud crash and the man fell thru the ceiling and onto the living room floor right in front of the police.

Twenty-one-year-old Aaron Deon Kinsey was not injured in the fall. He was booked on domestic violence charges, fourth-degree assault and harassment.

Next from Hong Kong, a school has lost an appeal against abatement order that was issued after a neighbor complained about the daily noise coming from the playground.

The High Court judge dismissed an appeal by Lantau International School, which was required in 2009 to keep noise levels below 60 decibels or face fines South China Morning Post reported.

The school said it respected the court’s decision but asked how the hush order could be enforced on a playground full of young children.

“Asking a child not to make noise in a playground is like asking them not to blink or a rabbit not to eat lettuce,” the school’s lawyer was quoted as saying.

Children’s right to engage in play and recreational activities  enshrined in international conventions, was among arguments raised by the school in its appeal last year.

Next from Atlantic City, New Jersey, a woman who won $25,000 worth of plastic surgery from an Atlantic City casino has decided she won’t go under the knife.

The woman was the winner of the Nip and Tuck Sweepstakes given by the Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort and gave the winner the option to take the prize in cash – and that’s exactly what she did.

The attention-grabbing contest gave the winner the opportunity to mix and match various types of surgery, including breast enhancements, tummy tucks, liposuction and face lifts.

Perhaps it was her age as I think most women would have taken the surgery.

And finally from Sweden, rally driver Per-Gunner Andersson who is known for his speed behind the wheel but was not fast enough over the weekend when his wife had to give birth in their car on the way to the hospital.

After his wife went into labor in the middle of the night on Friday, the couple took off rushing to the hospital in their BMW.  But after half-an-hour, oops, they realized they were not going to make it to the hospital in time.  They called an ambulance to meet them on the side of the road.

The ambulance arrived just in time and their son Alvin was born a minute later without complications.  Baby was reported to be healthy and fine as was the mother.

Andersson, a junior world rally champion in 2004 and 2007, placed seventh in the 2011 Rally of Sweden but could not drive fast enough to get his wife to the hospital.
